Pasadena is located north of downtown Los Angeles and has a long history going back to Hahamogna Tribe of Native Americans who once farmed and lived around Arroyo Seco until the arrival of Spaniards who established the San Gabriel Mission on September 8, 1771.  The San Gabriel Mission  is visited by thousands of tourists regularly, one of the many Missions that are located up and down the state of California.   A great place to spend a day.
Today the area is home to the famous Rose Parade and Rose Bowl. If you are in the mood for food and shopping along Colorado Blvd you are not short on places to go. Of course there are plenty of places to visit that are not in the main hub of Colorado Blvd. In the mood for a drive you can’t go wrong driving around the streets of Pasadena and take in some of the best Craftsmen style houses in town. If you are more the Frank Lloyd Wright type maybe on your drive you will spot the famous Millard House.

Personally I always enjoy a walk around the Rose Bowl with my uncle, even if he starts at 6am.
