IWOC Awards Dinner

Our CEO and Co-Founder had the recent privilege of attending the IWOC awards in downtown Los Angeles.

"I was honored to be invited to this amazing event put on by American Women for International Understanding (AWIU) in collaboration with the U.S. Department of State honoring this years International Women of Courage Awards. Thank you to my Uncle Elvio and Robert Bowman for helping make this happen. These women brave the odds to bring hope and a better life to so many. And yes tears and standing ovations were common place. What these women do is beyond anything I could ever imagine. I encourage you to read their bios and all honorees here: https://www.state.gov/s/gwi/iwoc/2019/bio/index.htm "

United States State Department release: Now in its 13th year, the Secretary of State’s IWOC Award recognizes women around the globe who have demonstrated exceptional courage and leadership in advocating for peace, justice, human rights, gender equality, and women’s empowerment, often at great personal risk and sacrifice. Since the inception of this award in March 2007, the State Department has recognized more than 120 women from more than 65 different countries. U.S. diplomatic missions overseas nominate one woman of courage from their respective host countries. The finalists are selected and approved by senior Department officials.
